I do hope that you continue as a mentor. I was attracted to your profile because of the super-diverse professional background you have and because as chief of staff, you get to see a part of the business engineers, like me, normally don't. As a mentor, you were very good at listening to me and asked questions that made me feel like this was important for both of us. There were moments of mutual discovery when you said something like "Oh that's very interesting, I had not seen it from that point of view" or "By telling you how I think of something I remind myself of why it is important" It was not a session where the mentor just goes on and on about their background and provides lots of ideas without checking if they are relevant to the mentee. I really enjoyed the way you spoke about how to work with members of a leadership team, by building trust and understanding what is expected of me in that particular role.
